What started with a Scripture, a surprise for Mom, and one handmade shirt became a message worth carrying into everyday life. Come behind the design of our Yes, Indeed It Won’t Be Long collection, inspired by Amos 9:13.
Some designs start with an idea. This one started with a Word.
If you've followed A Touch of Faith for any length of time, you already know that inspiration can come from just about anywhere around here.
Sometimes it's a beautiful ribbon I can't leave at the store. Sometimes it's a customer asking, “Faith, can you make...?” And sometimes it's a message that hits differently and makes me think, I need to create something with THAT.
That's what happened with the words:
“Yes, indeed, it won’t be long now.”
They come from Amos 9:13 in The Message, and from the moment those words became part of this project, they carried such a sense of expectation.
Not maybe.
Not one of these days.
Yes, indeed.
And that little phrase eventually became much more than a design.
It Started With a Surprise for Mom
The first Yes, Indeed It Won't Be Long shirt wasn't created as part of some big product-launch plan.
I made it for my mom, Apostle Frances D. Hardison.
And if you were watching our Saturday Live, you got to see the surprise unfold right along with us.
I chose rich brown and gold tones and created a shirt around those powerful words. What I loved most wasn't simply how the finished shirt looked—it was what it said.
It was wearable encouragement.
A reminder you could put on in the morning and carry with you throughout the day.
And, of course, once I start creating...one idea has a way of turning into another. 😂
Then Creativity Did What Creativity Does...
I started imagining the design another way.
Enter burgundy and leopard.
Same message. Completely different personality.
That version became part of a Faith's Creative Circle lesson, giving our members a chance to see how changing colors, patterns, and design choices can transform an idea while keeping the heart of the message intact.
That's one of my favorite things about creating.
You don't always have to start over to make something feel new. Sometimes you take an idea that already means something and ask:
“What else could this become?”
But Why Stop at a Shirt?
That's when I knew this message belonged somewhere else, too.
A notebook.
Because think about what happens inside the pages of a notebook.
We write plans.
Ideas.
Prayers.
Goals.
Things we're believing for.
Things we're working toward.
And sometimes the things we're still waiting for.
Suddenly, Yes, Indeed It Won't Be Long on the cover wasn't simply pretty artwork.
It felt like a reminder before you ever opened the first page.
Keep writing. Keep planning. Keep praying. Keep believing.
Maybe You’re in a Waiting Season, Too
That's the part of this collection that means the most to me.
We can make the shirt. We can print the notebook. We can choose the colors and get all the little details just right.
But ultimately, the message is what I hope stays with you.
Maybe you're waiting for an answer.
Maybe you're building something that hasn't become what you envisioned yet.
Maybe you've been praying about something for a long time.
Maybe you're working faithfully behind the scenes and wondering when you'll finally see the fruit of it.
I don't know what your “it” is.
But I do know there are seasons when we all need a reminder to keep going, keep believing, and keep trusting God with what we can't see yet.
And sometimes that reminder can be as simple as four little words:
It won’t be long.
More Than Something Pretty
This is really the heart behind A Touch of Faith.
Yes, I love making beautiful things. Give me some ribbon, flowers, a blank shirt, or a new product to design and I'm probably going to find something to do with it. 😂
But I want what leaves this studio to carry something with it.
Joy.
Encouragement.
Meaning.
And, of course, a little faith.
That's what Yes, Indeed It Won't Be Long became for me.
It started with Scripture.
It became a surprise for Mom.
Then a Creative Circle project.
Then another design.
Then a notebook.
And somewhere along the way, it became a whole lot more than something pretty.
It became a reminder.
